We have arrived!
Hi all,
Just a quick note to let you know that we have arrived in Ghana. The flights were good, just tiring and I didn't sleep well last night so hopefully tonight will be better.
Our apartment is nice - the bed a little firm, but we will get used to it.
Kim -- Pres. Kradofer just is in our office to meet us, right now as I am writing this. (He was Kimberley's mission president in Arizona and we are now working with him).
Ghana kind of seems like the other parts of Africa that we have been in.
Mom -- we have already met someone from Nigeria that remembers you well. I cannot remember the person you said you wanted us to look for if we got the chance. Write and tell me. Anyway, we met Charles Ajeigbe who was a young missionary in Lagos. He is now the head of a dept. here (computers, phones, etc. - I think). He is a very nice man.
It is hot (but not too hot) and humid. We went and exchanged money this morning and then to the grocery stores with another couple. We live just below the Area doctor and his wife so we should be well taken care of if we have an issues.
Must run. There is a potluck dinner with the couples (for us) tonight. There are 8 couples plus the area presidency. Haven't had a chance to say hello to Elder Dube yet - may see him just now as we head down from our office.
Love you, Mom and dad/Nancy & Jim

Glad to hear that you're making progress but too bad about having to deal with a cold during the ride. Hope it goes away quickly. Did you get any meds?
It rained quite a bit here the other day, did you guys get caught in any of it & is that what caused your cold? Sounds like this week is supposed to be really nice weather here so let's hope it follows you there as well.
Tara & I are supposed to leave for this coming weekend so we're looking forward to that but unfortunately I haven't even worked since last Wednesday morning and it's causing some tension with budgeting plans. Hopefully some shifts come my way this week.
Happy riding and hope you get well soon :)

Goodbyes in Lilongwe
Pretes had the old and new Branch presidencies in Kauma Branch over for supper on last Friday night. It was great to see them and spend some time. Things are going so well in that Branch now. It has gone from about 40 attending Sacrament meeting last November to 142 last week. There are 21 baptisms scheduled for October and 11 more a couple of weeks later.
Also said our goodbyes to the Collins Family. We sure appreciate all they have done. We wouldn't have survived our first few months without them being in Lilongwe and helping in the Lilongwe Branch there and doing monthly trainings for both Branches.

Liwonde Group Sunday, Sept. 16th
Here is a picture of the Liwonde Group on Sept 16, 2012. This is taken beside the classroom at Ferry School where we meet.
The 3rd picture is of ladies in Sunday School class. They prefer to sit on the floor (after Sac. meeting) because they are more comfortable as that is what they are used to.
4th picture: Liwonde Primary with Sister Chisambo and Christina.
5th picture: Benjamin family. Aaron is wearing his new missionary suit and looking really smart! We love Aaron and his family!! Needless to say, there were tears today.
